Tree of Life Funerals, in accordance with their eco-friendly ethos, offer a range of eco-friendly coffins but also offer other coffin and casket choices as required.
We offer these at wholesale prices (plus delivery & handling fee). Coffins which are not in our standard range can be provided, details of which will be provided prior to ordering.

At home after death care
A gentle way of understanding and accepting the death of a person you love is to care for their body at home for anything up to 5 days. Tree of Life Funerals will support you every step of the way with keeping the body cool, to washing and dressing, and having family and friends visit to say their own goodbyes. You are not alone during this very difficult time as Lauren or one of her trusted team will support you.
If required, the body can be transferred to a local Mortuary for care and if embalming services are required, this too can be arranged via a local Mortuary provider which is listed on the NSW Mortuary Register.

We do things a little differently, we see our role is to assist and empower families to create meaningful and authentic farewells that are aligned with their values, at an affordable price.
We are completely transparent with our pricing, sourcing everything at cost and applying a 35% Service Fee to the wholesale cost of the funeral.
Picaluna donate 5% of profits to your choice from one of our Picaluna Charity partners. As at December 2022, Picaluna have donated in excess of $115,000
to well over 170 different charities since their launch in October 2016.
Direct Cremation Price and Information.
A Direct Cremation is a no service, no attendance cremation of the deceased, with cremation of your person taking place fairly quickly and the ashes delivered to the family following the cremation. Families often hold a memorial ceremony at a later date. If variations in your needs occur, as in your person needs to be prepared for a viewing, dressing, at-home after-death care, supply of a coffin other than the standard Bioboard, or additional body transfers, this will add to the cost of a Direct Cremation.
Transfer from Mortuary to Crematorium | $200
Transfer is the transferring of the deceased from the place of death to the home or mortuary $350.00. This price is for a weekday transfer within a 70km radius of Batemans Bay, between 8:00am and 6:00pm; weekend and after-hours rates apply for transfers on Saturdays, Sundays and Public Holidays. Additional rates apply for a transfer beyond a 70km radius of Batemans Bay or if more than two attendants are required.
Transfer from the mortuary to the Crematorium is $200.00

Cremation with a Funeral Service Prices & Information.
A Cremation with a service, can either have the coffin present with the cremation taking place following the funeral service, or, the cremation can take place first, followed by a memorial service at a later date. With both options, the ashes are delivered to the family following the cremation taking place. If variations in your needs occur, as in your person needs to be prepared for a viewing, dressing, at-home after-death care, supply of a coffin other than the standard Bioboard, and additional coffin or body transfers, this will add to the cost of the Funeral Service.

Extended storage over 7 days will attract additional fees.
Funeral arranging entails organising the transfers, meeting with the family to complete documentation, coordinating with external suppliers, supplying music choices for the service, registering the death with the Registry of Births, Deaths & Marriages, delivering the ashes back to the family.
A professional celebrant is an integral part of the funeral process. They will meet the family, learn the story of the deceased, their life and loves; then craft a personalised funeral ceremony, delivered on the day. This typically takes 10-12 hours’ work. Having a Celebrant helps the family and the community to honour and celebrate their person and mourn their death so they can begin to heal and rejuvenate.
A basic cardboard or MDF cremation coffin is a legal requirement in NSW. We supply Bioboard coffins as a standard but of course other coffins are available, starting at $700.00. This cost includes the delivery fee to Batemans Bay. Natural Calico Waterproof Liner and Pillow is $85.00
van Transfer option | $200.00
Tree of Life Funerals offer a simple silver Ford Hearse which is not a requirement. If a family choose to have a van coffin transfer, this is $200.00.

Funeral staff numbers on the day, vary depending on the needs of the venue, as well as numbers expected to attend. This price is for one Attendant for 2 hours.

Burial with a Funeral Service Prices & Information.
A Burial with a burial graveside service. If variations in your needs occur, as in your person needs to be prepared for a viewing, dressing, at-home after-death care, supply of a coffin other than the standard Bioboard, and additional coffin or body transfers, this will add to the cost of the Funeral Service. An additional fee of $350.00 is applicable for a dual service, such as at a church, followed by a gravesite interment.
Eurobodalla Council manage a number of Cemeteries and prices vary at each site. Charges by Eurobodalla Council include the cost of a Plot Reservation (Right of Burial), followed by an Exercise of Burial Licence at the time of burial. Prices will be provided as part of the funeral arrangements and are paid directly to the Council. Private cemeteries have different rates. Other costs may include a Grave Marker.

The funerals we like to provide are customisable to suit individual preferences –we like to do things differently! There are other types of goods and services which are important to consider and of course are optional, but can be arranged for you, at additional cost.

Flowers | $At Cost
Flowers are only limited by your imagination so costs vary. You don’t need to splash out, often, flowers from your own garden are the best as they better reflect the person who has died and are very personal.
Can be either a Funeral or Death notice, both digital and print. Can be submitted to newspapers of the family’s choice.
Broulee Memorial Gardens can hire the Sidney Room to you and organise the catering – typically catering is charged on a per-head basis. There are any number of venues and catering can be arranged for you. Talk to us about your needs.
Tree of Life Funerals offers at-home after death care, including mortuary care. Keeping the deceased cool involves a daily visit and refresh of the cooling system.
The hourly rate is dependent on circumstances. An End of Life Doula provides emotional, social and spiritual support to the dying, and to those around them. They help open up the conversation about death and loss and on a more practical level, they will provide company if/when the family needs to take breaks, or help set up a community support system. They can continue to provide support to the family after their person has died.
A Basic cardboard or MDF cremation coffin is a legal requirement in NSW. We supply Bioboard coffins and a Natural Calico Liner and Pillow is additional $85.00. Other coffins are available, starting at $700.00. This cost includes the delivery fee to Batemans Bay.

It is a requirement that funeral information is provided in accordance with the Funeral Goods and Services Information Standard, contained in the Fair Trading Regulation 2019.
Transportation of the body prior to burial or cremation will be in a suitable vehicle owned by our company and will only be transported for the purposes of the funeral services as per the final agreement with the family or authorised representative of the deceased person.
In-home mortuary care, including keeping the deceased person cool for up to a period of 5 days, will be conducted entirely by Tree of Life Funerals (South Coast NSW) Pty Ltd.
If external cold storage care of the deceased person is required, this will be provided by a local third-party provider which is listed on the NSW Mortuary Register within the local area, under agreement with Tree of Life Funerals (South Coast NSW) Pty Ltd.
**Cost of Burial Plot and burial fee is additional and payable to Cemetery management and dependent on chosen site.
